When you open the box, the first thing you see is a soft-lined polyester carrying bag. The accessories include one user manual, one lens cleaning cloth, one adjustable tripod, and one carry bag.
The tripod has a compact structure. Its legs are made of plastic but are durable. After testing, it is very stable and does not wobble. Additionally, the tripod feet are equipped with rubber caps, providing a non-slip effect that protects surfaces like tables and balconies. Furthermore, the tripod is adjustable.
Weighing only 1.2 kg, it is compact in size. The dual-speed focus makes it very effective when fine-tuning is needed, such as during astrophotography or observations at high magnifications. The entire unit is deep green and feels very premium. It has a mounting base on the side for easy installation of a sighting scope, which is particularly useful for observing and exploring distant celestial bodies.
The 80mm large aperture allows more light to be gathered, making observations appear brighter at the same magnification level. It also features a twist-up eyecup for added comfort during viewing. Moreover, the SV41 PRO eyepiece is detachable, allowing you to connect a WiFi camera or other eyepieces freely.
Let's start with a soccer ball located 50 meters away from the SV41 PRO. This photo was taken with a smartphone at 28x magnification using the SV41 PRO. The 80mm aperture tube has excellent light-gathering capability, so the brightness of the whole photo is very impressive. The image is also sufficiently clear and sharp.
If the photo is taken at 84x magnification, the clarity may decrease, but the image remains clear. At this magnification, insects on the surface of the soccer ball can be clearly observed. This photo serves as a comparative image at different magnifications.
Next, we examine a spruce tree located 55 meters away. At 28x magnification, you can clearly see the structure of the cones and the number of needles on the branches. The image is bright and clear. This is a photo taken using the SV41 PRO with an installed eyepiece and a smartphone combination. If you seek higher image quality, you can also switch to other eyepieces. Switching the magnification to 80x will still yield a bright and clear image.
The SV41 PRO offers high performance, making it suitable not only for birdwatching but also for observing insects and small creatures.
Next to the spruce tree, there is a brick tower. I’m not sure how far away it actually is, but it is definitely much farther than the spruce tree. With the naked eye, you can only see that it is a brick tower without distinguishing features like metal pipes or wires. However, using the SV41 Pro, even at the lowest magnification, you can clearly see the structure of the brick tower as well as the red and blue bricks above it.
Switching to maximum magnification, we continue observing. With temperatures around 30–35 degrees Celsius, the heat creates strong air currents that affect image quality, but overall, the images remain very clear.
Next, we use the SV41 PRO MAK to observe a statue located 27 kilometers away.
At minimum magnification, you can even clearly see the shape of the statue and the temple along with other buildings in front of it from 27 kilometers away. High temperatures have some impact on the observation, but the image is still very clear.
